JAL’s new codeshare flights with TAM, which are pending government approval, are in addition to the airline’s existing codeshare cooperation to the region with its oneworld and joint business partner American Airlines.

“We are pleased to offer our customers more routes and destinations with our new codeshares with TAM Airlines,” said Hideki Oshima, JAL’s Executive Officer International Relations and Alliances.

“The new cooperation also allows JAL to strengthen its presence in this ever-growing market.”

In addition to JAL’s current code share flights (operated by American Airlines) to Brazil via New York, Los Angeles and Dallas/Fort Worth, the airline will offer codeshare flights operated by TAM via London, Frankfurt and Paris as well as New York. JAL will also provide codeshare service on TAM’s Brazil-domestic routes resulting in an increase of the number of Brazilian cities served from two to thirteen.
